We're into Napoli on the 11th Day
We met our local charter bus at a piazza outside the narrow lanes by the hotel. For most of the ride to Naples Mount Vesuvius was a constant backdrop as we circled Naples Bay. We were headed to the museum on top of Capodimonte Hill.
A Love Story
The art collection at the Capodimonte National Museum evolved with many historical turns and twists from 1738 as King Charles VII's palace on Capodimonte Hill, to its present National Museum status in 1950. We had a tour group photo op in the grand palace court yard. No photos in the museum. Our route to the hotel drop off was of Naples city crowded streets and pedestrian busy sidewalks.

Susanna lead a short orientation to point out our choices for lunch. In the late afternoon she conducted an extensive tour of old Naples. We visited the massive glass domed Galleria, then onto outdoor neighborhood markets, and onto the streets, shops and people in old town. In the evening Susanna invited us to join her for a super pizza dinner at Di Mattoe's Pizzeria. A stop st Susanna's favorite gelato shop was a great way to close out everyone's evening.
